About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and MLabs Technologies Ltd (RC9939212), trading as MayR Labs ("we", "us"), for the Pocketa app and pocketa.mlabs.ng. By installing or using Pocketa, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Pocketa.
What Pocketa is, and isn’t
Pocketa is a personal finance tracker. It helps you record and understand money you manage elsewhere.
- Pocketa does not hold, move or transfer money, connect to your bank, or make payments. Marking a bill as “paid” in Pocketa only records it.
- Pocketa is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Insights and projections are automatic calculations from what you enter, and may be incomplete or wrong. Make decisions with care, and consult a qualified professional when it matters.
- Pocketa is only as accurate as what you enter. Exchange rates are the ones you save, and combined totals across currencies are approximate.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Pocketa on devices you own or control, for your own personal or business record-keeping. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer (except where the law allows), or use Pocketa to break the law or harm others.
Your data and your responsibilities
Your records are stored on your device and belong to you. You are responsible for:
- keeping your phone secure, and your PIN and backup passphrase safe;
- making backups (the app offers encrypted backups, but turning them on is your choice);
- the information you enter, including details of other people (such as names of people you lend to). Only add what you are entitled to record.
If you lose your phone without a backup, or forget your backup passphrase, we can’t recover your data. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
Pocketa Plus
Pocketa is free. Pocketa Plus is an optional, one-time, lifetime purchase made through Google Play or the App Store. “Lifetime” means for as long as we offer Pocketa on that store and you keep the account you bought it with; restore it on new devices with the same store account. Prices are shown in the store before you buy. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policies and your rights under consumer law. Features described as “coming soon” are plans, not promises, and may change.
Ads
The free version may show a small number of ads from third parties. We aren’t responsible for third-party ads or the sites they lead to.
Third-party services
Optional features rely on others: Google (sign-in, Drive, Play, AdMob) and Apple (iCloud, App Store). Your use of them is also governed by their terms.
Changes and availability
We may update Pocketa, add or remove features, or stop offering it. We will try to give notice of major changes in the app, and if we ever discontinue Pocketa, we will keep data export available for a reasonable time. We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continuing to use Pocketa after a change means you accept it.
Disclaimer
Pocketa is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that Pocketa will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that calculations will be accurate for your purposes.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, or losses from decisions you make based on Pocketa. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Pocketa Plus in the twelve months before the claim, or ₦10,000 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights.
Ending
You can stop using Pocketa at any time by deleting it. We may suspend your licence if you seriously breach these terms. Sections on your data, the disclaimer, liability and governing law survive.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Nigeria, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your country.
